In 2007-2008 I made two “spoken music” pieces for a sound art course by Shinji Kanki. First one, The Funniest Concerto, was made as a interpretation of the theme “Boring Music”. I tried to express the frustration that emerges when one has to wait on the phone and listen to the awkward waiting tunes. The Funniest Concerto is intended to be played through a built-in speaker of any cell phone.
The second piece, called A Short History Of Invisible Colors, was made for a radio program COLORS, that included works of the students of Shinji’s class at Finnish Academy of Fine Arts. COLORS was co-producted with Charm of Sound (Äänen Lumo) on 100,3MHz Lähiradio. The show was aired on 14th and 21st of May 2008.
